From Chains to Hope: Hussain’s Journey to Freedom

In the heart of Peshawar, a desperate call reached us, shaking us to our core. Neighbors, their voices filled with urgency and sorrow, pleaded for help for a 12-year-old boy named Hussain.

Hussain, who lives with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), was misunderstood and overwhelmed. His family, in their desperation, had resorted to chaining him to a tree trunk in their courtyard, feeding him from a bowl on the ground—treating him more like an animal than a child. It was a heartbreaking picture of stigma and helplessness.

Our response was immediate. The Angel’s Home team set out to find him, and what we saw affirmed the urgency of our mission. Hussain was in distress, both physically and emotionally. Yet, in his eyes, we saw something his circumstances couldn’t dim: potential.

We spoke with his family, offering counseling and psychological support. However, the weight of caring for a neurodivergent child had become too much for them. In a surprising decision, they asked if we could take him in. Without hesitation, we said yes.

Today, Hussain is safe. No longer bound by chains, he is now embraced by love, patience, and professional care. With the help of our team—therapists, caregivers, and volunteers—he is learning, healing, and thriving. Each day, he becomes more confident, expressive, and joyful.

His story serves as a powerful reminder: with compassion and the right support, even the most painful pasts can lead to promising futures.

Your support makes this transformation possible. Thank you for walking with us on this journey—one chil

From Abandonment to Belonging: Momina’s Journey to Angel’s Home

Last year, a fragile and heart-wrenching story made its way to our doorstep — a story that has since become a beacon of hope for many. It is the story of Momina, a young girl who has not only survived layers of loss and neglect but is now thriving with dignity at Angel’s Home.

Momina’s life began with tragedy. Her mother passed away soon after childbirth, and her father, unable to cope, succumbed to addiction. With no formal adoption or protection, Momina was handed over to a relative’s family who, over time, saw her as a burden—especially as her intellectual disability became evident.

    Before Coming to Angels Home

As she grew older, her presence became increasingly unwanted. The so-called caretakers began forcing her out of the house. She would wander the streets alone, sleeping on sidewalks, exposed to unimaginable dangers and abuse. A child left to the mercy of the roads — all because she was different.

But amid the indifference, one shopkeeper noticed. Moved by her condition, he contacted child protection authorities. Swift action was taken, and she was rescued. Authorities began the search for a place that could offer her more than a temporary fix — a true home. That search led them to us.

Angel’s Home is the only center in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa designed specifically for the lifelong protection, care, and rehabilitation of children with disabilities. Here, children are not merely managed for a few hours a day — they are welcomed into a family. A safe haven where they can live without the fear of being discarded again.

Momina was the first female resident of Angel’s Home. She came to us frightened and withdrawn, carrying the invisible scars of neglect. Today, she is learning, laughing, and living with joy. She is no longer just surviving — she is thriving. Here, she is not simply tolerated; she is celebrated.

    After Coming to Angels Home

Her journey marks the beginning of a new chapter not only for herself but also for many others like her. Angel’s Home is now expanding, with over 15 girl residents — each with their own story of resilience, each finding in this place a sisterhood, a future, and above all, unconditional love.

    After Coming to Angels Home

Momina’s story reminds us why Angel’s Home exists — to ensure that no child with a disability is left behind. Because every child deserves more than shelter. They deserve a home, a family, and a future.
